Caracterización tipológica preliminar de los sistemas agroforestales existentes en la cuenta del Rio Polochic, Guatemala

Resumen

The agroforestry systems are considered an excellent alternative for the sustained development od the renewable natural resources and the conservation of the enviroment; they also improve the quality and the conditions of the life in rural communities, specially of those in marginal regions. There has been almost no agroforestry research in Guatemala. The present project is designed to get basic information on agroforestry. The research unit is based on the watershed concept; within this unit the agroforestry system will be characterized. The project will begin in the Polochic watershed in the north east region of the country.
